Errai [Gamma Cephei A] is an orange subgiant star forming part of the spectroscopic binary Gamma Cephei with its red dwarf companion Kalb Errai [Gamma Cephei B].

Errai is located 45LY away from Earth in the Constellation Cepheus and is visible to the naked eye. Due to the precession of the equinoxes Gamma Cephei will take over from Polaris as Earth's northern pole star around 3000CE and will be closest to the point around 4000CE. It will then pass on to Iota Cephei around 5200CE

The star was traditionally named Errai, derived from the Arabic word meaning 'the shepherd'.
